# Overview of the Pathway Levels (Bronze, Silver, Gold)

## **Introduction to the Pathway Levels**

The Digital and Cybersecurity Pathway framework defines three progressive **Pathway Levels**—**Bronze**, **Silver**, and **Gold**—to help organisations build and strengthen their digital and cybersecurity capabilities. These levels provide a structured pathway to evolve from foundational compliance to specialised excellence, spanning the five architecture domains: Business, Data, Application, Technology, and Security.

## **Bronze Level: ‘Digital Compliance’**

**Purpose**:\
Establishes core competencies across the five architecture domains, focusing on foundational digital readiness and compliance.

**Focus**:

* Core cybersecurity measures, such as basic endpoint protection and secure networks.
* Initial data governance practices for secure storage and access controls.
* Process alignment with business strategies to ensure compliance with regulations.

**Outcome**:\
Organisations at this level achieve baseline digital and cybersecurity readiness, meeting regulatory requirements and laying the groundwork for further development.

## **Silver Level: ‘Digital Excellence’**

**Purpose**:\
Builds on the Bronze level to achieve operational efficiency and excellence across all architecture domains.

**Focus**:

* Optimised processes and seamless integration of digital applications.
* Advanced data governance, including audits and automated tools for data management.
* Proactive cybersecurity measures, such as incident response plans and stronger access controls.

**Outcome**:\
Organisations achieve enhanced operational resilience, improved digital tools, and stronger security measures, enabling more efficient and secure operations.

## **Gold Level: ‘Digital Specialists’**

**Purpose**:\
Represents the highest level of achievement, where organisations specialise in areas that align with their strategic objectives and industry needs.

**Specialisation Tracks**:

1. **Cyber Specialist**:\
   Mastery in cybersecurity, ensuring comprehensive protection and compliance.
2. **Data Optimised**:\
   Advanced analytics and data transformation to drive business insights and innovation.
3. **Industrial Integration Excellence**:\
   Seamless integration of systems, enabling smooth data flow and cross-platform collaboration.
4. **Automated Factory**:\
   Full automation leveraging IoT to optimise manufacturing and production efficiency.
5. **Digital Customer Experience**:\
   Exceptional digital customer service through secure, personalised platforms.

**Outcome**:\
Organisations at the Gold level achieve industry leadership in their chosen specialisation, combining innovation with robust security and operational excellence.
