Interpreting Your Assessment Results

Understanding how to interpret and act on your assessment results is a critical step in your organisation’s journey through the Digital Pillar framework. This section explains how to evaluate your scores, identify opportunities for improvement, and prepare for the next steps, with a visual flowchart to guide the process.

How to Evaluate Your Results

Understanding the Scoring Scale

The assessment uses a 0–3 maturity scale to measure your organisation’s digital and cybersecurity capabilities:

  • 0 – Not Considered: No practices or policies in place.

  • 1 – Defined: Initial awareness and planning; basic steps taken.

  • 2 – Managed: Operational practices and processes implemented but not fully optimised.

  • 3 – Optimised: Fully integrated and continuously improved practices aligned with organisational goals.

Breakdown of Key Components

  1. Pillar and Theme: Identify the architecture area (e.g., Business, Data) and its sub-theme focus (e.g., Strategy, Data Management).

  2. Exemplar Statements: Review benchmarked statements representing best practices for your current level.

  3. Observations and Opportunities: Note strengths and areas for growth identified during the assessment.

  4. Maturity Guidance: Understand what’s required to progress to the next maturity level by examining criteria for each score.

Target Setting

Use the scoring fields:

  • Current Score: Reflects your organisation’s present state.

  • Compliance Score: Indicates the minimum standard to meet regulations.

  • Target Score: Represents your desired level of maturity.

Using the Improvement Flow Chart

The following flow chart provides a step-by-step guide to interpreting your results and planning your next actions:
