Certification Pathways and Reassessment

Certification within the SCS Framework formally recognises your organisation’s maturity level — whether you’re just getting started or already demonstrating advanced capability.

It’s not about perfection. It’s about showing progress, consistency, and readiness in a structured, credible way.

What Certification Means

Once you’ve completed an assessment and met the maturity thresholds, you can submit your results for moderation and formal recognition.

To be eligible for certification, your organisation must:

  • Complete an SCS pillar or full assessment

  • Achieve the required scores for Bronze, Silver, or Gold

  • Submit sufficient evidence (where required)

  • Complete a light-touch moderation and validation process

If approved, you’ll receive a maturity certificate aligned to your level — and, with your consent, appear in the SCS Directory, visible to primes and customers.

The Recognition Levels

Each level 🏅 represents a meaningful step forward:

Level
What it Represents

Bronze

Foundations in place, with intent and early progress

Silver

Consistent practices, defined approaches, steady maturity

Gold

Optimised systems, continuous improvement, and sector leadership

Recognition is available at all levels. You don’t have to be at Gold to benefit — improvement is a journey, and certification reflects where you are today.

Moderation and Validation

To ensure fairness and credibility across all assessments, a moderation process is carried out before certification is awarded.

This may include:

  • Sampling of evidence (if applicable)

  • Clarification questions from the support team or practitioner

  • A light-touch review by the ADS moderation team (where required)

Note: Moderation requirements vary by delivery model and level of support — your regional contact will guide you through the process.

Reassessment and Renewal

Certification is typically valid for 12 months. After that, you’re encouraged to reassess — either to renew your current level or aim higher.

Reassessment allows you to:

  • Track your progress over time

  • Focus on a new pillar or revisit an existing one

  • Benchmark your improvement areas

  • Keep your recognition current and relevant

You'll receive tailored improvement guidance with every certified assessment to help shape your next steps.

Certification as a Strategic Enabler

SCS certification isn’t just a badge — it’s a platform for growth.

It helps you:

  • Show credibility to customers and primes

  • Build confidence in your internal systems

  • Structure your improvement around a clear path

  • Work toward sector recognition, including Aero Excellence

Whether you’re seeking new contracts, scaling operations, or aligning with supply chain expectations — SCS certification gives you a trusted foundation.
