How to Navigate and Use this Resource

The SCS Knowledge Hub has been built to guide you through your improvement journey — step by step, and on your terms. Whether you’re preparing for assessment, exploring pillar guidance, or supporting others in your organisation, this site is designed to make your experience clear, accessible, and fully supported.

This page will help you understand how the Knowledge Base is structured, how to find what you need, and how to get help along the way.

Use It Your Way

The Knowledge Base supports you at any stage of your SCS journey — whether you’re:

  • Just getting started and want to understand the basics

  • Preparing for an assessment and need guidance

  • Working through improvements after certification

  • Supporting others in your organisation or network

You don’t have to follow a strict order — browse freely or follow the full cycle. The structure is there to guide you, but the experience is yours to shape.

How the Knowledge Base Is Structured

The content is organised into five main sections, each designed to support a specific aspect of your journey:

Each pillar section follows a consistent layout, including:

  • An overview of the theme

  • Bronze, Silver, and Gold assessment guidance

  • Scoring and evidence expectations

  • Improvement planning support

  • Templates and supporting resources

There are several ways to explore the Knowledge Base:

  • Sidebar Navigation – Use the menu on the left to move between sections and pages

  • Homepage Quick Links – Jump directly to key content from the main landing page

  • Search Bar – Enter keywords to instantly locate relevant content

  • Internal Links – Pages are cross-referenced to help you move between related topics and tools

  • Pillar Navigator – A visual entry point to each pillar section (if enabled on your site)

The site includes a built-in AI Assistant (located in the search function at the top of the page) to help you get quick answers and find relevant content. You’ll find it in the bottom-right corner of every page.

What it can help you do:

  • Explain terms like “Bronze maturity” or “evidence expectations”

  • Point you to the right tools, templates, or sections

  • Clarify what specific resources are for

What it won’t do:

  • Score or review your assessment

  • Give personalised improvement advice

  • Replace a practitioner or ADS contact

Use it for fast, contextual help — especially if you’re new to the framework or unsure where to look.

Staying Updated

To ensure you’re always working with the latest guidance:

  • Visit the Version History page for all recent updates

  • Look for “new” flags on refreshed tools or key documents

  • Contact your assigned practitioner or ADS lead if anything is unclear

Additional Support

If you need further help:

  • Use the AI Assisted Search for simple guidance and definitions

  • Visit the Support & Contact page for escalation routes

  • Speak directly to your assigned practitioner or programme coordinator
